Why did you decide to join Jim’s Pest Control?
After doing the same job for 15 years I needed a new challenge. Jim’s Pest Control offers diversity and flexibility as everyday is different.
What are your values?
Hardworking honesty professionalism.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I enjoy nice food and sharing it with family and friends.
What tips can you give to customers?
Maintenance and cleanliness is paramount. You don’t want pests to easily find ways into your home or work space. Once inside you don’t want them to have food source to thrive. Don’t just sit back and hope they go away otherwise those few pests can turn into an infestation that can take over within no time at all.
What has been one of your most interesting jobs?
An office in a beautiful heritage listed building in the city had an issue with something infesting their space that they couldn’t identify. On investigation I had a rough idea what it was but couldn’t be 100% sure. I then collected a sample and took it to the Museum Of Victoria Entomology Dept who identified it as a form of Bird Mite. With this information I was able to inform the client of the problem pest and treat the office space appropriately to eradicate the bird mites.
How has your franchise been for you since joining?
Since joining my client base has increased significantly and word of mouth has done wonders. I get a lot of positive feedback and have made some great connections.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
I see myself still working hard and getting more involved the the community as my kids grow up.
Pest issues that you find in your area and unique content.
Within my area there are a lot of period homes which overtime can become susceptible to rodent infestation.
